My annual holiday in 2015: 8 days and 7 nights Yunnan classic, top and highlight tours
In last blog, my tour ends at Lijiang. However, the trip continues.
Dec 15, 2015 Lijiang to Shangri-La
We drive one hour to view the First Bend of the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery and another hour to Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world.
Then we head to Shangri-La and it takes about 2 hours . we visited Dukezong Old Town in the late afternoon, climb up to the top of Guishan Hill or tortoise Hill, seeing the largest Prayer Wheel of the world and have a panoramic view of Shangri-La County and Dukezong Ancient Town.
In the evening, we visit the Tibetan Family and watch their performance of song and dances.
Dec 16, 2015 Shangri-La—Dali
It is very cold and it was snowing in the morning. we spent half day to explore the earthly paradise described in the famous novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton.—– Pudacuo National Park consisting of three main parts Shudu Lake, Militang Grassland, Bita Lake.
After local lunch, we leave from the snow world and drive back to Dali ( half day’s drive ) until evening, the first night in Dali but I know we would finish our trip two days later.
Dec 17, 2015 Dali —Chuxiong
In the morning we visited the house of Bai ethnic minority and their wedding ceremony and show, it is very interesting.
In the afternoon , we visited the butterfly spring and Dali Ancient Town.
After the tour, we set off to Chuxiong , where the Yi ethnic minority mainly live in and we have hot pot ( clear soup) , very fresh mushroom and pretty delicious and it is from Sichuan cuisine which is characterized by spicy flavor.
Dec 18, 2015 Chuxiong —Kunming
After breakfast, we drive to Kunming and visit the typical Karst landform – Stone Forest. Walk into the Greater Stone Forest, marvel at groups of gray-black stone peaks and climb up to have a panoramic view of the intricate stone forest. Visit the Lesser Stone Forest and listen to the legendary story of “Ashima”. It will be a real treat to visit the extraordinary natural stone forest.
Dec 19, 2015 Kunming —Departure
We finished our trip and say good bye to Yunnan and I would like to say one word from my heart: traveling is not only a good way to close to nature and relax ourselves but more importantly it reflects the interesting and meaningful life of what we are try to pursuing , so just be yourself and do what you like and keep moving no matter how difficult it is.
